There are a number of reasons why a child may require orthodontic treatment. While you may be concerned with a particular issue, such as an overbite or underbite, we are trained to assess and treat these with a fairly “normal” course of treatment. These are considered common orthodontic problems in early development that we see on a regular basis. Some of the common problems we treat are underbite, overjet, crossbite, open bite, spacing, and crowding.
If you are worried about something that you see developing with your child, the first thing you want to do is ask your family or pediatric dentist. They will most likely refer you to an Orthodontist to better evaluate the problem and offer a reasonable treatment plan and solution.
The first visit to Nakisher Orthodontics is always complimentary. We evaluate each patient individually and make the necessary treatment recommendations. Sometimes, it’s a wait and see; your child’s palate may still be developing and we will want to monitor growth over the next several months. There is no cost to you during this observation period. You get peace of mind knowing that your child will get the proper orthodontic care when the time is right.
